Todmorden is a classic plantation-style home set in the quiet residential community of Gibbes Glade. This coral stone, three-bedroom villa has an open design that lets every area benefit from the island breezes and Caribbean sunshine.
Surrounded by tall trees and floral gardens, Todmorden’s outdoor area resembles a tropical oasis. The refreshing saltwater pool is lined with a mosaic of sparkling blue tiles and has a wading area for children. A stone terrace borders the pool and holds several loungers, umbrellas, dining nooks, and a large grilling station. The grilling station has a large BBQ grill and coral stone countertops, and is conveniently near the kitchen. A security system ensures peace of mind. An open-air lounge stands between the interior and exterior. The lounge can be open or closed to the pool deck, as it’s lined by a series of archways with shuttered French doors. The lounge is cooled with ceiling fans and has a living area, a dining table, and a large wet bar.
This lounge opens to the main living area, which has a flatscreen TV, an entertainment system, and two sitting areas. The kitchen is nearby, and has stainless steel appliances, a coffeemaker, and expansive wraparound countertops. Its spacious and open, so multiple people can cook together. There is a chef who will prepare two consecutive meals a day, either breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner. WiFi is available throughout the villa, and the common areas are cooled with ceiling fans. Todmorden features three spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms with modern, ensuite bathrooms. Each suite opens to the terrace and has a large walk-in closet. The master suite and second suite feature a king bed, and the third suite has twin beds that can be made up as a king. All three ensuite bathrooms have a large, walk-in shower.
Todmorden is an excellent choice for families or groups of friends. The villa is located away from the crowds, but still close to all that Barbados has to offer. The villa is within walking distance to Gibbes Beach on the Platinum Coast, and a 10-minute drive from Holetown. Historic Speightstown offers shopping and casual dining, and is just ten minutes away.
