Nelson Gay House offers 1.5 acres of mature, lush gardens on a half-mile stretch of Godings Bay. This charming, sophisticated villa is ideal for families seeking beachfront luxury.
Crystal clear waters and coral reefs lie just beyond the villa’s backyard. This bay is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and strolling on sunbathed afternoons. The villa’s 50-foot pool rests in the center of the manicured lawn and features a unique, marine-inspired design depicted in Italian mosaic tiles. Loungers, an al fresco dining table, and towering palm trees surround the pool. A spacious gazebo with lighting and ocean views is nestled amongst the lush foliage, while an al fresco dining set and living area rest beneath the open-air verandas on either side of the villa’s back entrance.
Inside the coral stone mansion, art deco-inspired floor tiles and stone walls add coolness and elegance to the common areas. Nelson Gay was originally built for a United States Ambassador in the 1950s, and its 14-foot ceilings exude refined grandeur. This family-friendly villa offers a bevy of formal and relaxed lounges, dining areas, and sleeping quarters. The staff includes a cook, laundress, housekeeper, and butler.
Each of Nelson Gay’s bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom and air-conditioning. In the Main House, there are two master suites with king beds, satellite TVs, and full ensuite bathrooms. One of the master suites shares a bathroom with the adjacent twin suite, which is perfect for young children. In the fourth suite, there is a queen bed, satellite TV, a mini fridge, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower. The fifth suite offers two twin beds, satellite TV, a mini fridge, an ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower, and a private terrace. The final Main House suite has a queen bed, satellite TV, and a private terrace. Each of the Chattel Houses have a king suite with exterior access only. In the cottage, there is a king suite with a TV, mini fridge, exterior access only, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub and shower.
Nelson Gay House enjoys a convenient location in Speightstown within walking distance of groceries and restaurants. Tennis courts, a gym, and a spa are available next door at the Cobblers Cove Hotel (additional cost).
