Necker Island is heaven on earth amidst the British Virgin Islands. This picturesque private island rental is a celebrity-favorite for good reason: total bliss and luxury lies in every detail. Sir Richard Branson, Necker’s sole owner, has been improving and frequenting the island since the 70’s.?
Thanks to its expert staff, Necker Island offers every activity under the sun. The water sports team offers kite surfing, water-skiing, wake boarding, sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Go underwater to snorkel or scuba dive amongst shipwrecks, marine life, and coral reefs. On land, there’s hiking trails, yoga, tennis, a media library, a gym, pools, and even beach Olympics. Turtle Beach is Necker’s luxurious event venue. It’s an ideal location for families to gather for beach days, tasty meals, or even weddings. The staff can host themed parties and beach BBQ’s here as well. The area has a trampoline, permanent grilling station, and tons of lounging space.?
The beauty of renting a private island, of course, is that the sea and sand are never far away. Necker Island is surrounded by unspoiled, white sand beaches that are totally free of crowds and development. Talk about barefoot luxury! Not only that, but the island is home to hundreds of tropical creatures. There are lemurs from varying species in spacious enclosures, a flamingo breeding program, Aldabra giant tortoises, and iguanas that can grow up to over 6 feet long. Necker has also recovered a nearly endangered species, scarlet and white ibis. These vibrant birds were hunted to local extinction nearly 100 years ago, but are now flourishing on the private island.
