Know Before You Go...®
Even though there are only 3 bedrooms at Symbio, there’s tons of space here, and everything is finished to the finest degree. The home features custom everything, from the full kitchen, to the very private bedrooms. There are lots of places for lounging, both inside and out, and guests will have no trouble relaxing at this Virgin Gorda getaway. There are a few beaches that are located just minutes away by car, so guests can spend the day swimming and snorkeling. Ideal for couples or families with older children, Symbio offers up the very best of this British Virgin Island.
A pedestrian gate brings you onto Symbio’s landscaped grounds and into the villa’s entry foyer, which is inlaid with a polished stone compass rose. Symbio celebrates artistic design and detailed craftsmanship throughout every space of this three-bedroom, fully air-conditioned villa set on two-thirds of an acre.
On Symbio’s main floor, a comfortably furnished Great Room shares space with an open-plan gourmet kitchen and dining area. In the Great Room, mobile wood panels are hung on rails so you may slide them around to cover sections of the glass slider doors to prevent glare while watching TV during the day. The backs of the sofas in this room easily rotate so you can either face the TV or enjoy the view outside without moving any furniture.
Glass sliding pocket doors open completely around the Great Room to incorporate the adjoining wraparound covered terrace, furnished with a large modular sofa. More cushioned seating on the terrace overlooks the pool and gardens below, and beyond are excellent sea views. Angled concrete stairs descend from this terrace to an interim hardwood deck fitted with benches and a picnic table, and continue down to the pool, garden and third bedroom.
Alongside the Great Room and terrace is the full kitchen, featuring custom cabinetry, bar stools, and stainless steel appliances. At one end of the kitchen is a bar/coffee nook, and at the other end, a convenient door opens out to Symbio’s fully-screened alfresco grill kitchen and wet bar.
Through an archway from the Great Room and kitchen is the dining area. This room contains a large glass dining table with seating for six. Pocket glass slider doors fronting one side of the dining room disappear into the wall, opening up the screened grill kitchen and bar just outside as a bonus space for cocktails and grilling.
Down the hallway is a powder room enhanced with a very unique door - original art sandwiched between glass and hardwood - and a chef’s pantry with a large refrigerator and workspace.
Symbio’s air-conditioned queen guest suite is at the far end of the corridor, a private retreat with an en suite bath, a bay window seat, a spacious desk, light-blocking window treatments which allow you to sleep as late as you wish, and glass slider doors which open to a private covered verandah. A concrete staircase leads down from this terrace to the pool level, perfect for a private midnight swim and stargazing.
The air-conditioned king master suite is also a very private space. Accessed by a staircase near the villa’s entrance and completely secluded on Symbio’s upper level, this suite has a covered breezeway porch (perfect for yoga and massage, or a game of cards) and adjacent, a small step-out balcony which overlooks the pool area. The master suite offers a desk, and from the king bed, an ocean view. The en suite bath features a semi-alfresco rain shower, partially enclosed by opaque glass block.
Down on Symbio’s pool level are gardens and giant boulders providing privacy for sunbathing, swimming, and relaxing. Sun umbrellas and awnings are placed throughout the grounds, providing shady areas for reading and private moments. The free-form pool has a graduated walk-in entry just like a beach, is chlorine-free, and features a fountain. From the pool deck, a wooden walkway leads to the third bedroom. This bedroom offers a queen bed with an additional day bed.
