Home Away From Home
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
The team at Where To Stay and our personal concierge set the tone for our trip from our initial availability inquiry! They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was in order for our trip including provisioning the villa and scheduling in home chef services. The team’s customer service was impeccable! The villa itself had a lovely vibe that was truly cozy and homey and provided us with a lovely setting for our trip to paradise. The villa has a wonderful set up for a large group where we all had plenty of space to retreat to but also great spaces to gather including the family room, dining spaces, pool, etc. The views were remarkable and La Vida was a picturesque setting for a spectacular visit to this special island!
WhereToStay.com and Jean made the process very easy! I love how easy it was to include all of our travel details through MyTrips.

Luxury and Location make this the best choice!
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
We spent 6 glorious nights, 7 days in this pristeen luxury villa. From the welcome at the dock all the way to saying goodbye - we really couldn’t have asked for more. The rooms are outstanding as well as the bathrooms/showers. Kitchen is large and opens to dining table and sitting area making it perfect just to hang out and talk. The view is stunning and for us it was so important to have the beach a few steps away….the snorkeling and kayaks made the trip magical. I would highly recommend LaVida for your next trip. The house manager, Mindy was nothing short of perfection! We will be back Mindy!! :)

We had a fantastic experience in this deluxe accomodation.
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
We stayed for two weeks and had everything we needed for our families (which included infants and children).
The house was very bright and luxurious. The air conditioning in each room was quiet and effective.
What a view - from sunup to sundown!
The pool provided a great place to cool down, and the beaches were beautiful and fun for snorkeling. We found it very peaceful and private.
The drive to town allowed us to enjoy the scenery and locate different beaches.
The house was well equipped with games, beach towels, movies, kayaks, and lounge chairs. It seems the owner has thought of everything!
We certainly hope to return to Villa LaVida!

This was our first rental property try - complete success.
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
My husband and I decided to get away last summer to enjoy a week of calm and normalcy before we moved to Istanbul. After a marathon Internet search for the right place to stay, we happily selected Villa La Vida. This was our first vacation of this kind - we’ve been rather lazy tourists, always opting to stay at big busy resorts. For this trip, we wanted something more personal, low-key and more intimate.
The house was breathtaking. It was a new home when we visited, and the only word that comes to mind to describe it is “Wow”! The bedrooms were neatly decorated, and we had everything we could need and more. The kitchen was used a lot, as were the wet bars.
The view was perfect. My husband and I enjoyed sitting out each evening as the sun was going down, enjoying the sounds of the island turning in for the night. There’s something so peaceful and calming about this place. We had a nice supply of cigars, and every night sat overlooking the ocean, enjoying ourselves. The smoke helped keep any interested bugs at bay and who doesn’t love a good cigar at sunset? Add to that a delicious glass of red wine and we were set for hours.
The swimming area was lovely. We spent every day in the ocean. Someone was very smart when they came up with the idea to make a little swimming area for kids using the natural stones to create a little pool in the ocean. When we visit again the future with kids, we plan to make use of the area a lot.
To be honest, we’re more ocean people than pool people so we didn’t use the pool much. However, it was beautiful and had plenty of room for splashing around.
Overall, we were so happy with this this adventure, we’re planning to book Villa La Vida again in 2012. We’re exploring the Mediterranean during the summer of 2011, but we were both tempted to make the trip across the Atlantic to get back to this place! I highly recommend it!

Awesome!
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
I just returned from a glorious 10 days of sun, rest and rum on Virgin Gorda. I’ve been to Virgin Gorda many times and am constantly surprised by how little things change. There are more nice, big villas than there used to be and the variety and choice in the grocery stores has improved but it is still a small island where everybody waves and says ‘Good morning’.
We stayed in the brand-new Villa LaVida and were delighted. The decor is modern and tastefully minimalist. No bamboo or rattan anywere;-).
Compared to the other high-end VG villas I’ve seen it was very private and secluded. There didn’t seem to be any public access points to the Nail Bay beach so we never saw anyone on the beach and the pool deck simply cannot be seen except from the house itself.
We only used the air conditioning a couple times, prefering to soak up the breeze and the sound of the surf crashing. On the one hot, still night we did use the a/c for a dinner party and it was nice to be able to close the doors and chill the whole house.
We really enjoyed the snorkeling in front of the house and the beachcombing was excellent but we often found ourselves walking 3 minutes up the road to swim on the Long Bay beach because it is so beautiful.
We were a party of 8 and the house was easily large enough. I don’t think 10 people would be cramped at all.
Aaron and Kim were excellent as concierge… I thought I knew Virgin Gorda pretty well but their local knowledge and connections really opened my eyes to parts of the island I’d never seen before.
All in all, I highly recommend LaVida. The only downside I can think of was the seclusion. We had friends staying in Leverick Bay and it was a 25 minute drive to see them.

Villa LaVida offers luxury for the whole family.
La Vida Villa, British Virgin Islands villa review
My family loves going down to the Caribbean once a year and we have stayed on St. John, Antigua and St. Martin. However, our favorite island, by far, is Virgin Gorda.
We have stayed at Leverick Bay and rented another villa down by the Baths, but we now have a new favorite spot. My wife found the newly opened Villa LaVida, so we decided to book it for our family (with two kids) and my sister’s family (also with two kids). La Vida is on the far end of Nail Bay. Although it’s a little more removed from Spanish Town, we don’t go to a small island to be in the middle of a bunch of noise. The long and short of it is that the we loved it.
Our favorite part of the villa was the horizon pool, which was right above a private little corner of the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous and it was near impossible to get the kids out of there.
The villa was big and spacious, and even though we were two families we never felt like we didn’t have enough room. Also, down by the beach there was a really lovely sitting area where the stone work fit right in with the boulders. It was the perfect place to have an evening drink and watch the sunset while the kids were still in the pool. The views were spectacular by any standards - and we had some unbelievable sunsets.
Kids kept busy in the pool and on the beaches. It was a very safe area and we let them go where they liked. There was snorkeling right in front of the house. Also, just a five-minute walk away was Long Bay Beach. On the close end, it had great sand and swimming, and on the far end had nice snorkeling as well.
On the downside, the satellite TV wasn’t working, but we found that was okay, because it forced the kids to do more than watch TV.
In all, we had great family time. Everyone loved it as a place to stay. It was roomy, spacious, and gorgeous. There was lots of outdoor patio space. We relaxed and recharged and are already trying to figure out when we can go back.
