A short drive down the hill from Alfresco Villa means the white sands of Long Bay Bay Beach, as well as amazing bars and restaurants, but when you stay at Alfresco Villa, you may never want to make that drive. The best choice for those searching for a great space with lots of amenities, this three-bedroom villa is primly positioned on a private hillside, which can only mean one thing: an amazing view. The villa itself comes complete with a gourmet-style kitchen, an outdoor cooking space, and a solar heated pool that’s perfect for an afternoon near the beach. Throughout the villa, you will enjoy the lovely views of the Bay, while also enjoying the delicious luxury each room has to offer.
On a private hillside overlooking Long Bay Beach!
Alfresco is situated on a private hillside above Long Bay Beach; this new three-bedroom vacation home is a real beauty! Its two pavilions are separated by the swimming pool and sun deck.
Entering through the portico brings you into Alfresco’s mezzanine, which overlooks the villa’s Great Room below. The mezzanine connects to the Great Room via a graceful curving staircase and also leads into the completely equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances; the kitchen looks out to the sea view. Adjacent to the kitchen is a covered pavilion with a glass-and-stone table for outside dining, complete with a gas grill. From this open-air pavilion, a walkway leads to a classic West Indian welcoming-arms staircase which descends between planters, filled with colorful palms, bird of paradise, ixora, ginger and heliconia flowers, to the tiled sun terrace and solar-heated pool.
The pool terrace, set with chaise lounges for tanning, overlooks a view of the white sands of Long Bay Beach and far beyond to Jost Van Dyke and small picturesque cays, just perfect for daydreaming, cocktails as you watch the sun color the sky at the end of each day, and for stargazing at night. There’s also an outdoor shower on this terrace for convenient after-beach rinse-offs.
A bank of glass sliding doors opens from the pool deck into Alfresco’s living room, creating a generous inside-outside space for relaxing together, swimming and sunning, playing cards or games and watching TV and DVD movies on Alfresco’s satellite TV. More slider doors open out to a verandah fronting the ocean side of the living room so you can enjoy the view from this vantage point as well.
On the other side of the pool terrace is Alfresco’s two-bedroom pavilion. The staircase curves up to the entrance of the king master bedroom, a suite with air-conditioning, reclaimed teak furniture from Bali, window draperies and a bathroom with a travertine-tiled shower. The master suite has its own private ocean-facing verandah just outside.
Directly below the master suite is Alfresco’s second air-conditioned bedroom/bath, furnished with two teak twin beds which can be made up into a king bed with your advance request. This two-twin bedroom is situated directly on the pool terrace so you can get out of bed and slide right into the cool pool; this bedroom also features slider doors which connect to the garden just outside on Alfresco’s ocean side. To the rear of this level is a powder room, very convenient to the pool area.
Alfresco’s third air-conditioned bedroom/bath, situated directly below the living room in the other pavilion across the terrace, is accessed by a staircase off the pool deck. It has a queen bed, and also features slider doors which open out to the garden fronting the villa. This suite is very private.
Just a short drive down the hill is Long Bay Resort with its beach bar and restaurant, and the stretch of white sand of Long Bay Beach. Alfresco is very well located on Tortola’s popular West End with a variety of beaches and dining options to be found as you drive along the coast. Bomba’s Shack, famous for its crazy full-moon parties on the beach, is just up the road from Long Bay.
Book early for Alfresco - this villa, with lots of privacy and views of ocean and sky that you’ll find very hard to forget, is sure to be a very popular choice for sun-seekers!
Please note that the Long Bay Beach Club does not offer day passes to villa guests, and the hotel pool is off-limits to non-hotel guests. However, villa guests may pay $25 to use the Long Bay Beach Club tennis courts and guests are welcome to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Beach Club’s restaurant, “1748” as well as book spa treatments at the Long Bay Beach Club Spa.
