Know Before You Go...®

Bashert is a hidden gem. Most Turks travelers stay on busy Grace Bay, but Chalk Sound is the place to be for peace and quiet. Bashert has its own dock leading into the Sound, kayaks, and a multileveled deck to take in the views from.

Breathtaking views of Chalk Sound!

Bashert sits on the coast of Chalk Sound near Sapodilla and Taylor Bay. This fully air-conditioned villa sits at the end of a long driveway with lots of privacy and security.

Bashert comes equipped with kayaks and paddle boards for exploring Chalk Sound and all its little islands. The beach is just a 10-minute walk away, and there’s outdoor showers at the villa for rinsing off the sand and sea. On the deck’s lower level, there’s loungers, a dining table, a hammock, and stairs leading down to a private dock. Around the corner, there’s a large stone deck with an infinity pool in the center. On the balcony, there’s a living area and more dining with stunning water views. In the chic living room, guests can watch movies on the massive flatscreen TV. In the gourmet kitchen, feast around the wooden dining table and cook on stainless steel appliances. Sliding glass doors open to the balcony. Each of the three bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom. The master has a king bed, view of Chalk Sound, and balcony access. The ensuite bathroom has an al fresco bathroom with a rain head shower and soaking tub. The other two bedrooms have kings with one having the capability to be separated into twins beds if needed.

Bashert is perfect for relaxing on the water, and is close to three different bays. Its within a 20-minute drive of Grace Bay’s restaurants and activities if guests want a busier beach.

Bashert, Turks and Caicos villa review

Andrew from WhereToStay was very professional and proactive in the planning and execution process. The Where to Stay website / trip process and email tools and reminders were very helpful and easy to navigate.
Julian from the Bashert Villa was welcoming, easy going and professional. He was proactive in his communication the night before our arrival and greeted us at the villa at very short notice accommodating our flight delay. He also provided some welcome refreshments which was a pleasant way to feel we had finally arrived. Check in/out was very easy and he gave us a quick tour of the amenities and pointed out some of the highlights (pool lights, speakers, where to find the iguanas on the chalk sound island, etc).
Bashert Villa was well managed, well appointed, relaxing and private away from the busier places on Grace Bay. A rental car is definitely recommended and it gave us lots of opportunity to explore the island, snorkeling sites (Smith’s Reef / Coral Garden, beaches and some trails (e.g. Bird Rock Trail ~ 1.3 km each way according to my GPS - wear good walking shoes).
The kitchen was well appointed and had everything and more than you need in terms of counter top appliances and kitchen gadgets.
We were there the first week of January and not one mosquito. We left the screened doors and windows open and there was a constant breeze day and night.
In terms of groceries, from higher to lower: Graceway Gourmet had more selection in terms of things like pre-prepared foods and greater selection of cheeses/ antipasta/ conch you can cook; Graceway IGA had typical north American general selections; Sunny Foods Retail & Wholesale Cash and Carry which was a few dollars cheaper on most items like butter, eggs, milk, etc and also carried Costco items like nuts and jerky; and Graceway Smart which was similar in price to Sunny Foods but more generalized in selection.

Bashert, Turks and Caicos villa review

To be pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. From the moment we turned into the driveway our expectations were met and exceeded in every aspect. Hosts Dinesh and Julian had addressed every detail to assure our experience was second to none. Our family was very much in need of rest and relaxation and Villa Bashert provided exactly what the doctor ordered. The tranquility of Chalk Sound was a welcomed relief from the stresses of the “new normal” way of life. Plans are already being made to return to Villa Bashert in the not too distant future!!

Working with WhereToStay was Excellent!! Each and every detail was addressed which translated into a stress free experience.

Bashert, Turks and Caicos villa review

My husband & I booked Villa Bashert for a 10 night stay on a quick decision after Anguilla was not fully opened during these COVID times. Absolutely no regrets! This was our 6th trip to the island & first time staying on Chalk Sound, but we truly enjoyed that area & Villa Bashert itself was amazing. The views overlooking the crazy color of Chalk Sound never got old & there were such great breezes coming through the house when we opened it up that it kept any mosquitoes away & left us not even needing the A/C. The Villa itself was in pristine condition as it is a recently renovated place. They also added outdoor showers off 2 of the bedrooms, which were a nice added touch. The amenities were endless, & there were so many outdoor areas to enjoy between the 2 level decks with eating areas overlooking the water, to the dock with shower, & steps into the water for ease with the SUPs & canoes that come with the Villa. The amazing pool infinity edge pool had couches for relaxing & many sun loungers & lights for night swimming & surround sound speakers to play music. There was even a nice gas powered fire pit/table for use. Check in/out was a breeze & Julian (host) was easy to work with & had some nice little welcome gifts /supplies waiting for us upon arrival. The kitchen was one of the more well stocked & usable kitchens of a Villa or Airbnb that we have ever stayed at. Absolutely no complaints with Villa Bashert, except that 10 days wax not long enough. We would not hesitate to rent here again.

I cannot say enough kind words about Andrew. We have been working with him for Villa rentals since our honeymoon & first trip to Turks in 2009. He has a wealth of knowledge about the villas in the Caribbean & their real time condition plus things to do on the island & restaurants. Andrew always comes up with a Villa rental that is perfect for us & is exactly what we are looking for. He was especially helpful this year with everything going on with Covid & worked with us on rebooks of an Anguilla trip that we could not make due to the island shutdown from Covid & found us a perfect place fairly last minute as an alternative.

Bashert, Turks and Caicos villa review

My family & I just got back from an amazing time at Villa Bashert in Turks & Caicos. Andrew from Wheretostay.com was every helpful in securing us with a crib as well as other helpful tidbits prior to our arrival making our trip run smoothly. As others have posted, Villa Bashert & it’s water views are even more amazing in person! This place has everything…inside & out….every kind of kitchen utensil, BBQ, 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, beach chairs & snorkeling gear. We kayaked out to the small islands that you see off the deck. One of the small islands (there is a flag pole sticking up on it) had dozens of Iguanas. They came running out of their hiding places when we approached the small beach area on the opposite side. Julian, is a gracious host/owner & would occasionally check on us to see if we needed anything & would give us some great tips…like were to get some fresh fish at a reasonable price. We used the pool each day and never had to heat it & we also did the 5 min. walk to Taylor bay beach, our favorite beach. There were maybe 12 people on it., the water is aqua crystal clear and you can walk way out and only be knee deep. We also went to snorkeling around the Bight on Grace Bay, park in the public spaces by the Coral Gardens resort. If you want a free Conch shell, hundreds of them are washed up on the beach by the Conch Shack restaurant. My one piece of advice would be when renting a car, do get a Jeep or other SUV as many back roads are not paved and were a challenge. We went to the IGA grocery store and bought items for breakfast & lunch. If you drink coffee, you may want to bring some from home as a small bag costs $18. The Wine store is closed on Sunday so make sure to stock up on Saturday. Our favorite restaurants were Coco Bistro near Grace Bay, also Infiniti at the Grace Bay Club,....make reservations weeks in advance as these 2 book up. Prior to arriving in TCI, I had booked Omnimed to come to the villa on Wednesday early evening to administer Covid tests for our Saturday return to the US, as the US Govt required them taken w/in 72hrs of our flight…cost was $60 per person, we knew the results in 5 min. & got the formal emailed results later that everning…it was so worth it. The downside of our vacationing at Villa Bashert was having to leave paradise as our week seemed to fly by. If you can…book for 2 weeks, you won’t regret it!~

Andrew and his colleagues from Wheretostay.com were very helpful in securing us with a crib as well as other helpful tidbits prior to our arrival making our trip run smoothly.

Peaceful Holiday

Bashert, Turks and Caicos villa review

Our family of five just spent a week at Bashert on Chalk Sound, and it was incredible. The location was absolutely peaceful, and the pool and sound were a perfect place to swim, kayak, and SUP. I recommend that you get your SUP early in the morning, as by midday the wind picks up quite a bit. The house itself was well-stocked and exceptionally clean, with a nice welcome gift from Julien. He was very helpful, and offered many tips on where to dine and find off the beaten path excursions. The pool was a massive hit with everyone in the family, and we often spent hours during the day and into the late evening swimming and playing football. The option was there to heat the pool, but we never used it because the temperature was perfect no matter what time of day. The evenings were very peaceful, breezy, and perfect for stargazing outside. We’ve been to a number of different islands and always stay in villas due to the size our family, but the location, nearby beaches, and stunning views found at Bashert makes it one we will want to return to in the near future.

Andrew was great to work with and very knowledgeable about the island. It’s clear that he’s not a remote agent with no real experience about the island. We gave him our wish list for a villa, and he provided us with a list of locations that were perfectly suited to our family. He gave us great, in-depth advice on where to eat and places to visit. We would definitely use him again and would recommend him to anyone.

Bashert is a great villa. It’s clean, spacious, and the pictures represented it well.

Thank you Andrew for the guidance! The specific details around what to do, where to go, and how to get to and from everything was wonderful. Much appreciated. We had a great trip!
