Know Before You Go...®

La Niña is very inviting, with a convenient location perfect for exploring the island. We were able to easily get to different locales, and had a great day trip shopping in Marigot. It’s spacious and maintained daily. The pool and lounge area is great, and you won’t be able to do anything but relax!

Tennis court!

La Niña is perched above the Terres Basses hillside, surrounded by tropical gardens. The expansive terrace holds a large wading pool, and has daybeds on one side perfect for tanning. Outside, there is a gazebo, tennis court, and gym. The gazebo shades plush seating, dining tables, and there is a pass through window in the kitchen if guests want to take advantage of the al fresco dining area.  An additional table and chairs tucked away under a palm tree, provides for another relaxed dining option.

Inside, the modern living room features rattan furniture and a flat screen TV. The living room opens to the pool terrace and the sleek kitchen, which has stainless steel appliances. Both of the air-conditioned bedrooms are located off the pool deck. They are equal in size, each with a king-sized bed, ensuite bath with shower, TV. One bedroom opens up to the garden courtyard, while the other opens to the pool deck.

This villa manages to be private and convenient all at once. Baie Longue, Baie aux Prunes, and Baie Nettle are a short drive away. Marigot is 10 minutes away, with fine dining, shopping, galleries, historic buildings, and the Creole Market. Grand Case is only 25 minutes away.

La Niña can also be rented along with La Pinta to provide extra bedrooms for larger groups.

La Nina, St. Martin villa review

We’ve been to St Martin a few times in the past and this was the second time we have stayed at LaNina for a week. This is and has been a well-maintained very private property that is perfect for a couple to re-connect after enduring crazy schedules at home. 2-3 very minor maintenance issues were handled immediately by the on-site Concierge Cheyenne or Caretaker Vincent. While we don’t create much of a mess, housekeeper Mona is also great.
One of the bedrooms (closest to living room) seemed to have a mold smell in it, perhaps due to being closed off. We chose to stay in the room closest to the poolside restroom as we had before. The pool area and covered patio are great spots to enjoy this property. Didn’t use the living room or the TV once. Large Bluetooth speaker allowed us to play our own music while enjoying the weather outside. The location in a secure, gated community is wonderful. Just barely on the French Side (which we much prefer) yet less than 15 minutes to the airport. This is key especially instead of fighting traffic on departure days due to Dutch Side traffic when cruise ships are in. The two beaches in the community (Plum Bay & Long Bay)are walking distance for the incredible sunsets. World class dining in Grand Case is about a 25 minute drive, but oh so worth it. Made the trip 5 times last week. Great dining options in Nettle Bay and Marigot if you want to stay closer. Several great French Side beaches, David’s Hole within easy drive. Would return.

Booking with Where to Stay was our first experience with them and it was simple and seamless. From updates on local Covid restrictions to organizing the local support team, this was as efficient an operation as we have dealt with. Betsy was in constant contact, responded right away to any questions and was most helpful throughout. We had to re-book on another airline Delta changed their flight schedule to St Martin and due to the property having availability on the backside of our stay Betsy was allowing us the chance to rebook if we were unable to secure flights on the original schedule. She was great to work with during the entire process.

Great House!

La Nina, St. Martin villa review

Everything about the house and hospitality was outstanding. Giovanni provided excellent local knowledge although he could never figure out how to operate the safe in our bedroom.

My only disappointment was with the charge for the car. Thrifty charged me $147. 30 for additional driver ($35), roadside service ($14), pickup fee ($35), tax ($13) and surcharge ($35).

Overall rating is Fantastic.

Great service.

A wonderful villa with personality, style and comfort

La Nina, St. Martin villa review

Our stay in Villa La Nina was fantastic. From arrival where we found the pre-ordered food supplied unpacked and cots built for our two infants, to the sunny days spent around the pool and evenings spent relaxing in the outdoor seating area we enjoyed every moment. The tennis court is worth of a professional open tournament and many a friendly match was played out. We really recommend La Nina.

Betsy has been the most incredible help and support during our stay in the Caribbean. Always cheerful and quick on reply to an email, she has worked so hard to make recommendations that fit our needs and budget, and has continued to ensure we have all we could want or need during our stay. Finding wheretostay.com has been a revelation and one we will both come back to and have (and will continue) to recommend to anyone visiting the Caribbean.

Amazing Vacay!

La Nina, St. Martin villa review

La Nina was everything we hoped for and more. The villa is exactly as pictured, which is not always the case with some other travel sites. The supportive staff was helpful, pleasant, and professional. Although St. Martin has suffered severe hurricane damage, the locals showed great appreciation for our visit to their lovely island. Many restaurants and businesses have reopened, but the degree of devastation is still apparent. With continued tourism revenue they will come back to full splendor. I highly recommend a trip to St. Martin, as it is truly the “friendly island.” The beaches are beautiful and the waters are inviting. We are already thinking about a return trip, and when we come back I would love to stay at La Nina again!

The pre-trip support was exceptionally intuitive and the WhereToStay staff anticipated all we might need or encounter. Shawna kept in close email and phone contact with us in advance of the trip, answering all our questions quickly. She gave us a sense of comfort as she took care of all the details, down to our most minor concerns. I had never heard of WhereToStay before this experience, but have already begun to spread the good word about the company. There were no “surprises” as often can occur when booking a trip, so in this case “no surprise” was the best surprise! A big THANK YOU to Shawna for all her help.
