Know Before You Go...®

The beautifully landscaped and stylish Saline Reef is a great vacation spot for families with children over 12, or adults who want an exclusive get-away location. The views from this three-bedroom cliff-side home are worth the trip, with both Pigeon Island National Park and the Martinique Channel within sight. The pool area is very refreshing, and the advantages and amenities of this location are plentiful! But with two swimming pools and a waterfall, you may just be tempted to stay home and skip all of the nearby activities!

“Relax! It doesn’t get any better than this!” This is the motto of Saline Reef Villa in St. Lucia. Not surprisingly, this cliffside 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom villa lives up to it!

Saline Reef truly is a villa with a view. Located at the very north of exclusive Cap Estate, Saline Reef boasts panoramic views of not only the Caribbean Sea and St. Lucia, but also of Pigeon Island National Park and the Martinique Channel.

Each of the three bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and include their own en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms include walk-in wardrobes, private safes, sumptuously soft bathrobes and slippers, thick, white Christy bath towels (specially shipped from the UK), as well as Rituals Organic toiletries. The newly replaced mattresses are extremely comfortable and are covered in 500-thread count bed linens from the UK’s White Company.

The upper master suite, designed in aqua and silver with white furnishings, also includes a dressing room, ipod docking station, and access to it’s own private pool/sea patio and crow’s nest.

The interior suite is comfortable and airy and has been designed in off-white and pale grey tones with a touch of sunset red. This bedroom does not have direct outside access, making it perfect for the kids.

As with the upper master, the lower master suite also includes a dressing room, ipod docking station, and its own pool/sea patio and crow’s nest. This suite was designed in gold and ivory tones with all white furnishings shipped from the UK.

The Great Room is stunning with its high, vaulted ceilings and light airy feel. Here guests can relax on the handmade sofas and enjoy watching TV, listening to music on the Bose sound system or watching one of the many movies provided in the large DVD library. This large, comfortable lounge room has been designed to the highest of standards in white, sand, and duck egg blue.

Four French doors lead guests out onto the pool deck where they will find two swimming pools connected by a waterfall. The larger pool is for swimming while the smaller is a shallow pool perfect for relaxing. There are several areas to lounge and sunbathe - the pool patio, the garden area, the outside dining deck, or the ocean terrace and grill deck.

Inside, the upstairs dining area has a beautiful handmade dining table and chairs - all shipped from the UK. Here guests can enjoy a homemade meal while relaxing in the comfort of the cooling AC. The modern and fully equipped kitchen has all new appliances, and was designed in white, mushroom, and a touch of London bus red.

Angel, the primary housekeeper, together with Julianne, are on duty 7 days a week to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Angle and Julianne will wash any clothes you leave for them to clean during your stay. For a small additional fee, Angel and Julianne will ensure that your clothes are beautifully ironed, folded, and hung in your wardrobe. Please make arrangements directly with Angel for the ironing services.

Alfie, Saline Reef’s caretaker will ensure that all of the outside areas (including the pool areas) are beautifully laid out and ready for you each morning. Alfie will also ensure that Saline Reef is well maintained. If anything needs to be fixed, Alfie will happily take care of it.

Oliver, Saline Reef’s gardener, will ensure that the garden is looking its best, and will work to maintain the wonderful tropical and flowering plants that attract such wildlife as hummingbirds.

Special arrangements for a private chef, masseuse, etc. can easily be arranged by your WhereToStay.com representative. At Saline Reef, whatever you want to arrange is only limited by your imagination!

Villa Notes:
Saline Reef is easily accessible to both tennis and golf, and the beach (Anse de Cap) is only a 15-minute walk away.

Owing to its cliffside location, no children under 12 years of age are allowed unless the parents/guardians sign a waiver.

Staff - Angel is the housekeeper and has an assistant. They both work Monday to Friday from 8am-3:30pm. One of the two will work on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

Our housekeepers are not trained nannies and should not be expected to look after and/or babysit infants or children. If you do make any babysitting arrangements directly with the housekeepers, please be advised that this will be at your own risk.

Special rates and minimum stay requirements may apply during the Christmas/New Years, Jazz, Easter, and Festival periods. Please ask your WhereToStay.com representative for more information.  14 Night Minimum during Christmas and Easter

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

It was everything we expected and more. Beautiful views and accommodations. It was a long ride from the airport but I think most of the best villas are in that area are an hour and half from the airport. The rental agency was very thorough and accommodating. WhereToStay.com made our vacation more enjoyable by working out all the details for us.

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

We stayed at Saline Reef from April 17-24, 2015. It was a vacation that was without any disappointments. The villa itself is beautifully furnished with high quality bedding, towels, furniture, and media. The decoration is classic contemporary - not tropical to be tropical. The staff - YES THERE IS STAFF - is amazing. Not being familiar with having a cook, groundskeepers and security, we did not take full advantage of all they offered - but we never felt like they were there, in the way - but they were available at any call. When we did leave for daily excursions (not that we had to, the two pools and vistas offer plenty of relaxation) we returned to clean, made beds, laundry finished, dishes clean and put away. Not only that - dinner was prepared and ready to heat up! Considered an all inclusive and so happy we elected for the private villa. Including a rental car (not needed) groceries and tips - it may be about equal if not less money than a higher end all inclusive, but we were not held captive to the resort. We slept in past “breakfast” hour some days, others we left before the sun rose… it was our schedule and our vacation. Most mornings my wife and I had coffee overlooking Pigeon Island, Sandals and the Body Holiday resorts…close by were our own birds who would visit each AM as they built nests and pollinated the flowers. We have rented villas in the past and this was just a reminder of why - it is exactly what our family likes ( 2 teenage daughters ). If you want a touch of the all inclusive experience, LeSport - walking distance from Saline Reef offer a pass for $100 p/p per day. Sounds pricing - but worth it. We went for two days, from 10-6 and we had full access to the beach chairs, juice bar, lunch, tea time, meditation, pools, pool activities, volleyball, yoga, and all non motorized ocean sports to include SUP, Kayak, Hobie.

Andrew is a pleasure to work with - he makes booking a vacation easy - just pick the dates and the villa and leave the rest up to him. He will send reminders when thing are do and what you need before you leave.

Exceptional Property

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

The property this villa is on is amazing.  High on a cliff with a 270 degree view of the ocean and a prime spot for gorgeous sunsets.  The house has a terrific pool and multiple outdoor living spaces.  We ate out side almost off our meals to sounds of the ocean and tropical birds.  There is a great quiet beach with a 10 minute walk that has a calm reef for good snorkeling.  It’s a 10 minute drive to Gros Islet which has all your shopping needs and some great restaurants.  The staff is very accommodating and helpful with places to go/see.  You’ll want to rent a car to get to/from town and to go to other beaches like Smuggler’s Cove with their beach side restaurant, the Naked Fisherman. Also a great spot for a day at the beach.  Go see David at the Rex resort watersports in Gros Islet to get your snorkeling gear for the week.  We got a set of 4 for $40 USD.  If you’re planning on eating and cooking a lot at the villa, a good place to stock up is the Super J about halfway between Castries and Gros Islet.  It’s like a Costco or Sam’s Club with larger bulk items.  Ask Angel about getting fresh seafood and local produce from a couple of road vendors she knows.  Only downside would be the bugs.  Bring your bug spray and aloe.  You are also about a 2 hour drive from the Piton’s and Soufriere if you want to go there but didn’t feel a need to see it with only a week.  Plenty to do/see near the house.

Andrew was terrific.  Very quick to respond to any questions we had.  Proactive in communication and making sure everything was as advertised.

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

We decided we will never have a better view. The outside area was wonderful. It was really nice eating at the table at the end of patio.

We all felt comfortable with the house and staff. None of us had the luxury of a cook before, but it did not take long to get use to having Angel.

Hopefully, they will take our advice to get mattress pads for the beds.  Half of us did end up with many bug bites, but everything else out weighed the bites.

We also found having the rental agency representative coming by to be very helpful.  We thank everyone involved with us having a very successful vacation.

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

Saline Reef was beautiful!  The views were gorgeous, the staff was professional, and Angel’s cooking was very satisfying. The house was clean and very spacious.  They needed drawers in the upstairs bedroom, though.

There was a beautiful beach within walking distance, and tennis and golf were right down the road.

We would definitely make this our return destination if heading back to St. Lucia in the future.

Saline Reef Villa, St. Lucia villa review

Saline Reef is a beautiful property, with magnificent views of the ocean, islands, and tip of the Pitons.  The only cons about the property are the beds, which are two twin beds together.  The separation in the middle was uncomfortable, and I recommend that the mattresses be changed.  They are very dated and hard.  We actually didn’t sleep well on the mattresses.  The kitchen stove, and appliances were also very dated making cooking a little less pleasurable.  Overall, the villa is very clean, and the staff is excellent.  Angel and Josephine are great cooks, and very attentive. Saline Reef is highly recommended for the breathtaking views, and the location of the property-right on a cliff with nothing but the ocean in front.  Just Beautiful.
