Know Before You Go...®
Located away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas of St. Barts, Regatta villa is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom villa set in the heart of Pointe Milou. Perfect for two couples or a family wanting a relaxing escape, Regatta Villa is a careful balance of aesthetics and practicality. Helping to extend the island feel of this property, the private swimming pool is enormous and surrounded by small and large palms on a spacious wooden pool deck. There are plenty of great spots to enjoy the outdoors, even if you want a little shade and quiet time. There’s a cozy table with chairs and a wooden bench set in a covered area as well as another table out on the back terrace that looks out over the railings to the blue, pristine waters. Lorient and Marigot beaches are both within walking distance. Marigot beach is part of a marine reserve and its calm waters make it fantastic for snorkeling. Lorient beach is just as relaxing, and also offers white sands, quiet calm waters, and sparse crowds. Regatta is the perfect home away from home for those looking for a quiet and tropical vacation in St. Barts.
Large pool and multi-level deck!
Regatta is a two-story, two-bedroom villa in the true St. Barth design and tradition. Lovingly built by architect/owners in the “first wave” of development on the island, this newly renovated home still retains the feel of the earlier and simpler times that many longtime friends of St. Barth might think are disappearing.
Villa Regatta enjoys the advantages of a great Pointe Milou address, with plenty of sunshine and a sweeping easterly view over the Atlantic - perfect for yacht-spotting during regatta season. The layout of the villa was thoughtfully designed so that the large pool and interior terrace are protected from the wind while the sea view is still visible from nearly every point on the property. The landscaping is natural without limiting the sunshine, and consists of a mix of indigenous palms and barrel cacti.
The main living and dining area is open and welcoming, with comfortable furniture and a unique ambience created by a collection of remarkable European and North African art and artifacts. The dining table is made from Bahia blue marble so iridescent it is practically a work of art itself. An impressive collection of coffee table books will provide plenty of diversion for days by the pool, and indirect cornice lighting gives the space a pleasing atmosphere in the evening. Little touches like a rebuilt antique ceiling fan from the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi show the owner’s appreciation for traditional heritage in design and beauty.
Outside the main living area to the east is a second stone terrace that is known as an ideal vantage point for aficionados of the Bucket and Les Voiles de St. Barth. It is said that from here you see at the crucial halfway point who is most likely to win. Villa Regatta’s first bedroom is off the main living area but separated by a thick door to soundproof it from conversation or music. This bedroom provides the comfort of a four-poster bed, en-suite bath with dual vanities and a rain-shower, and corner windows with an ocean view. The second bedroom is slightly smaller, also with an en-suite bath and with an HD satellite TV with DVD player. The bedroom windows are screened for guests who prefer the sea breezes, but both rooms are air conditioned.
Located on the east coast of the peninsula of Pointe Milou, Villa Regatta is convenient to the shopping in Lorient and is just a short drive from Saline, the boutiques and beaches in St. Jean, and restaurants and spas at Grand Cul de Sac.
