La Maison de Jade is located on the Marigot hillside overlooking Marigot Bay and Turtle Island. Japanese-inspired decor and open design adds opulence to this fully air-conditioned villa rental.
A small wooden bridge crosses over a koi pond bordered with water lilies, reeds, and a waterfall wall. The black, semi-circular pool provides a wading area, ocean views, and nightlights, while the Jacuzzi provides a more intimate spot to relax. Al fresco dining surrounds the veranda and gazebos throughout the deck, and loungers are abundantly available. The air-conditioned gym offers a treadmill, bike, bathroom, entertainment system, and a steam room.
Two Buddhas sit at the villa’s entrance beside a round glass door with fuchsia orchids within. Behind this door, two 17th century Samurai soldiers guard the huge living area. Fourteen black, fringed Moooi lamps hang at varying heights from the exposed beam ceiling, and highly polished hardwood floors add warmth. Little luxuries lie throughout the living room, from the Moooi lamps to the specially commissioned TV cabinet. The rugged, reclaimed wood dining table sits in the mass between the living room and kitchen, all of which open to the spacious veranda and ocean views. The breakfast bar leads into the high-end kitchen, which is equipped with stainless steel, luxury appliances. A wine cellar and cold room amplify the gourmet experience. Movies are taken to the next level in the home theater, which is equipped with theater seats and a huge projector screen.
Each bedroom has its own distinct theme and design. The master bedroom features a carpet of black pebbles, a king bed made from open slats of wenge wood, and a headboard created by the famous Alexandre Mareuil in Bordeaux. Four additional king suite also have ensuite bathrooms, private terraces, and contemporary designs. There are two children’s suites with queen beds, flatscreen TVs, pink decor, and toys for young travelers. These suites share an ensuite bathroom. There’s also an eighth bedroom with a king suite.
Marigot is a largely residential area, so La Maison de Jade Villa is a truly tranquil vacation rental. There are restaurants and activities nearby in Lorient and Grand Cul de Sac, while the hustle and bustle of Gustavia and St. Jean are only a drive away.
