Waterfall Villa met all our expectations. The pictures and descriptions matched what we got, and experienced. It was very clean and well maintained. We had no issues at all during our stay. We highly recommend Waterfall Villa, for an idyllic St. John experience.

Where To Stay and Andrew made the whole booking process easy and efficient, with timely updates. The arrival and departure summary were very helpful and easy to follow. Andrew also responded promptly to any questions I had. Overall, a great experience using this villa booking company.

Paradise!!

My family of 5 visited St. Johns for the first time 7/11/22-7/18/22. We had a wonderful time! The house had all the amenities that you need. The house was set up perfect for us. My husband and I had the room that the bed faced the water so every morning you woke up to a beautiful view, our daughter (14 yr old) had her own bedroom and bathroom on the same level, and our 2 adult boys slept in the bottom bedroom (outside entry only) which had it’s own bathroom too, which they loved so they could have their own space!! We spent countless hours in the infinity pool looking out onto Fish Bay! The initial drive to the house from the rental car I will not lie was a little unnerving (left side and getting use to the hills) but you will quickly get used to it. The driveway is steep but most of the driveways seem to be that way and again you get quickly used to it! Thank you to Shawna and the agency for for all her help. They broke down everything we needed to do upon arriving / departing. It would not have gone as smoothly without them!! We used Landlubbers for grocery delivery and they were wonderful too!! Highly recommended staying at the Waterfall Villa!!

My wife and I made a third visit to this lovely villa for ten days April 10th-11, 2022. Weather was perfect as we enjoyed our time on the deck sunning, plunging in the pool or warming up with a morning dip in the hot tub, coffee in hand as the sun rose up over the neighboring mountain ridge. On several occasions we prepared our own meals served in the gazebo with its spectacular water view over Fish Bay. We managed several early morning trips to the north shore beaches, Trunk Bay and Cinnamon particularly, leaving footprints in the sand while being awed as always by the by the clear warm turquoise waters that are the jewels of St. John. The villa is conveniently located to those wonders as well as Cruz Bay, each reached in few minutes by the twisting winding roads that are always an adventure in themselves. We had one unique experience on this trip when we noticed one of our resident iguanas had somehow dropped into the water catch basin at the end of the pool. We patiently watched to see if he could crawl out on his own but in the end had to resort to the pool net to return him to higher ground, I think he appreciated the help but not nearly as much as we appreciated our time at Waterfall Villa.

Shawna and greeter Abby were instrumental in making our vacation flow smoothly. Our appreciation ladies, well done.

Family vacation in Paradise

We stayed at Waterfall Villa for 7 nights, and had a wonderful time! The home was beautiful, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The coolers, beach towels, and beach chairs were perfect for our days at the beach, and we used the pool and hot tub every single day! Our family of 4 only used two of the bedrooms, as the third was on a separate level / different entrance, and our kids are young, but you could easily have 2-3 couples or a family of 5-6 in this home. We loved having dinners in the gazebo, and hanging out poolside in the evening. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of closet space, the bathrooms were large and well stocked, and the A/C worked well in the bedrooms!

Betsy was fantastic! She answered all of our questions, and more. She was a huge help in getting our airport transfers set up, and communicating COVID testing requirements well in advance of our arrival. We felt informed and prepared leading up to our trip.

Amazing

Waterfall Villa, St. John villa review

Waterfall Villa is a tropical paradise. As soon as we arrived, we had a greeter take us to our Villa and with great detail went over everything about the house. Best view and great amenities. Only two things to mention are the driveway and stove. Driveway was quite scary coming in the dark and gas stove at times was hard to cook on with constant circulating winds. Minor inconvenience. Pool is wonderful. House was amazing. Everyone was delightful to deal with.

Spectacular

Waterfall Villa, St. John villa review

My family, wife, and adult daughter and son and his girlfriend stayed at the beautiful well appointed Waterfall Villa from 6/12/2021 to 6/19/2021.
The Villa has everything a family would need in paradise including an electric generator which was needed one night during our stay. The views and pool stand out at this Villa..
The Villa itself is beautiful inside also spacious interior with comfortable beds and furniture.
Just an all around fantastic place .
Highly recommend this Villa to anyone that is considering a vacation in St. John U.S.V.I.

Shawna is the perfect person to deal with.
I have already recommended Wheretostay.com and Shawna to numerous friends back here in Pennsylvania.

This was our 2nd time staying at waterfall villa since we got married out by the pool 6 years ago. It was just how we remembered it, beautiful views and the set up with the pool and patio being on the same level as the main living space is perfect. We will be back there sure!

I’ve been working with Shawna every year for the last 6 years. She’s the best, answers emails right away, returns phone calls and takes care of any and all requests. She makes the planning stress free and easy.

Let me first start by saying Waterfall Villa is beautiful and very private. We had 8 wonderful nights and their was plenty of room for our party of 6. The main reasons I would recommend this villa are listed below.
1) excellent Bedroom AC
2) spacious layout
3) kitchen very well stocked with everything you need
4) of course the pool and view
5) location to Cruz Bay
6) beach supply’s floats and chairs coolers. ( but I do need to say beach chairs should be replaced with new ones )
7) showers and water pressure very good
8) just the feeling of being safe
9) washer and dryer
10) And finally the most important thing a Whole house automatic generator. We lost power three or four times but the generator kicked on immediately. Without that on St. John an island that loses power to areas frequently it could make or break your vacation. So in my opinion book waterfall villa with confidence.

Shawna is the most helpful agent I have ever worked with. We booked our vacation over a year ago and then the Covid pandemic happened. I do not know how many times I reached out to her about changes and other questions trying to secure a date since our first reservation was not going to happen. She worked with the villa owners and eventually after three date changes made our trip happen. Her response time is impeccable 100% professional and yet very kind and sincere. My recommendation to WhereToStay.Com is you better take care of this employee, because you do not want to lose her to a competitor. She is top notch.

Fastest week of our lives!

We had an incredible week staying at Waterfall Villa! We can’t wait to get back, and are talking about staying for at least 10 days next time. Seven days in St. John goes by at “warp speed”! This was our 2nd trip to St. John, and this house is incredible. Every aspect of the property was awesome! The pool and the view are breathtaking. Before we left, we were already planning/scheming/discussing when we can come back and who we’ll bring with us. We stayed in Coral Bay on our first visit to the island, and we like this location (Fish Bay area) much better. Fish Bay is so much more convenient, just as quiet and private as Coral Bay, and we literally didn’t see or hear anyone from our mountainside perch. We were only 10 minutes from Cruz Bay, and the roads were fine. I have mixed feelings about leaving a review like this, because I want Waterfall to be available the next time we try to book it. Lol! The truth is, staying here will make your great island vacation even better.

Shawna was AWESOME! She was always available for any questions and gave us some great info and tips. She got married on St. John many years ago, so she truly loves this slice of heaven and it shows in her work. She will help make your dream trip as memorable as possible.

Stunning villa with panoramic ocean views and a five-star infinity pool
This was our 8th trip to St. John, and while we have stayed at several great places, Waterfall Villa is our favorite. Here is what made this villa stand out from the previous properties we’ve rented:
1. Our interaction with WhereToStay: Shawna and her team were outstanding, and they do a very good job of spelling out their information and policies up front. They also set up a taxi service to meet us at the airport and ensure we got to Cruz Bay at a reasonable time.
2. The landscaping is stunning and meticulously maintained.
3. The panoramic, million dollar view of Fish Bay.
4. The infinity pool with a view, solar-heated water, and waterfall feature. We would rate this as the best pool in St. John.
5. The lighted gazebo’s perfect position overlooking the ocean, flora, and fauna.
6. The interior of the home is nicely decorated, and the two top bedrooms have comfortable king beds and clean functional bathrooms.
7. The kitchen was well-stocked with a welcome basket.
8. The beach chairs are of exceptional quality, with back straps for carrying. The umbrellas were a nice touch that we have not seen elsewhere.

Things that could be improved or things to be aware of:
1. The driveway is very steep, but once I got used to it, it wasn’t a problem.
2. Air-conditioning is confined to the bedrooms and office area on the main floor.
3. The kitchen could use a non-stick pan, minor issue.
4. The 10:00 AM check out time is a little early.

Overall, our experience booking through WhereToStay was outstanding.

Everything you could ask for!

Waterfall Villa, St. John villa review

This was our first visit to Waterfall Villa and I don’t think it will be our last. We felt very comfortable here as soon as we walked in the front door. We felt at home and super relaxed. Anything you could ever need was provided, even a computer and printer so we could print out our boarding passes for that sad day we had to leave.

We spent so much of our time enjoying the pool and hot tub overlooking the wonderful Fish Bay view. It was hard to leave to enjoy everything else the island has to offer. We did enjoy some great restaurants and beaches around the island, but we always came back to Waterfall for relaxing pool time and cocktails. Waterfall made a wonderful base for our trip and we certainly hope to return again someday.

WhereToStay and Shawna in particular were great to work with. Shawna answered all of our questions promptly and kept good communication with us so we were ready to go when the time came. I would happily use WhereToStay and Shawna again for a future trip.

My husband and I stayed at Waterfall Villa with another couple and loved it! The pictures on the website and this video: https://vimeo.com/205363206 are accurate. It really is that beautiful and peaceful, and it felt very private. The patio was lovely, and the stunning view was hard to walk away from! The kitchen and bathrooms were all well stocked, and the beds and all the furnishings were very comfortable. There was a whole house water filtration system including an Ultraviolet (UV) light water purification system, so no worries about drinking the water. The automatic ice maker in the fridge was great too. All in all, you could really tell that the owner cares about his property.

We stayed in the two main bedrooms, which were equally nice. The third bedroom is down one level and includes the workout room. It was also very nice, but with a smaller bathroom and perhaps a slightly less spectacular view. I would caution that you might not want to put younger children in the third bedroom, because you have to walk outside and up the stairs to get to the main house. Older kids and teens would love the separation though!

The driveway will be completely daunting when you first drive in. Like, really scary and really steep. There is s big curve you have to maneuver to get to the entrance level, but you will quickly learn to navigate it! We were pros within two to three tries!

I can speak confidently for the four of us when I say that we loved staying at Waterfall Villa and would stay here again.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Waterfall Villa and St. John in general. Our days were filled with sunshine. We passed our time walking beaches, soaking up some sun on the deck of the villa, cooling off in the pool, reading, and watching the resident iguana. We visited Waterfall last year and had a bit of a rocky experience, but I’m happy to say the owners have apparently corrected the problems we encountered. There was nothing but pleasant days and nights on our stay this year. The entire experience this year was simply a St. John vacation to be remembered, for all the right reasons.

I think we were treated very well by everyone concerned at WhereToStay.com and Waterfall Villa.

LOVED the Waterfall Villa

Had a lovely stay at this beautiful villa! Accommodations were perfect, and the deck and pool were fantastic! I would hesitate to truly call this villa wheelchair accessible, solely because of the crazy-steep ramp leading to the entrance, but once inside, everything was essentially accessible. I would definitely book this villa again.

It was truly a pleasure working with Shawna at WhereToStay.com. She went above and beyond, even arranging for someone to take measurements at the villa to give me peace-of-mind about wheelchair accessibility. Thank you, Shawna, for helping us book a lovely vacation!

Waterfall is a definite dream come true.

My wife and I still remember the breathtaking Fish Bay views from the infinity pool and hot tub on this property.

We loved the poolside gazebo sunrises and early morning visits from the bananaquit birds. It emphasized both the tranquility and luxury this property offers.

Having the option of using either air conditioning or ceiling fans increased the comfort. The weather was 85 degrees and sunny each day, which allowed us to utilize all that the property had to offer. 

The kitchen and baths were both beautiful and perfectly designed. The furnishing were exquisite and comfortable - inside and out. Every Window had a view, as the entire front of the house that faced the bay/ocean was glass - open, airy and bright. 

The driveway was a little challenging, but by St. John standards, unremarkable - not daunting by any means. The ride to town was about 15 minutes. It was extremely private - not able to see or hear any adjacent residences. 

We will be back to St. John and we will be thrilled to be staying at Waterfall!

FABULOUS VILLA !!

This is a fabulous villa. This is our fourth visit to St. John and it’s our new favorite. The house was impeccably maintained and the view was amazing.  We liked the layout and design—the pool, hot tub and top floor are all on one level with two interior access bedrooms and a lower private third bedroom with exterior access. All the bedrooms were equal sized with beautiful water views.  Pool was large and the solar heating feature, which we didn’t need in August, would be great in the winter.  We’ve rented other villas where the pools were too cold. Something else we appreciated was the automatic generator—since we lost power when we were there and it was great being the only house around that still had electricity. We also liked the location in Fish Bay because it was both quiet and away from it all but also convenient to town (10 min.) and the North Shore beaches (15-20min.). Best of both worlds.

Only cons are that you don’t get a sunset view because it faces east (but in summer we’ve rented western facing villas that were way too hot in the afternoon) and there’s a sharp turn in the driveway that’s a little tricky at first but it’s no big deal after that.  All in all a great vacation and a great place to stay. We’ll be back.

WONDERFUL VACATION !!

We found the villa immaculate and the lush landscaping gave a real sense of privacy on the deck. My husband loved the large heated pool and, as two couples, we really enjoyed hanging out together in the hot tub. I especially enjoyed the interior which had this wonderful soft peach color on every wall- it felt a bit like living inside a conch shell!  I also enjoyed looking out at Fish Bay from my bed which was made easier because of a glass railing outside on the deck. While the driveway was a bit steep- you definitely need 4 wheel drive- we got used to it quickly enough. All and all a wonderful vacation and we’d strongly recommend Waterfall to other renters.

The Watervilla was exactly what we needed. Beautiful views with a relaxing vibe villa. Private pool area was nice. The Villa was very well equipped and lack of nothing.. The Villa also had beach chairs, floats, ice chest for your beach days. I would highly recommend this Villa. Also Shawna is the best for all your travel needs!

Fair rental

The good:
Nice layout to house, great views, nice to have washer and dryer there…
secluded. Nice grounds. Nice hot water, each bathroom with own instant water heater..beds comfortable, ceiling fans greatly helped heat and humidity, and A/C in each bedroom if wanted to use. Nice breeze most of time. Nice separate bedroom on lower deck. Patio furniture more comfortable than living room set.
We have rented numerous villas, condos in tropical locations, this one is fair for price and accommodations. Pool warm, nice, with waterfall.

The bad: location of house uphill, needed 4 wheel drive rental due to rains, no way up hill in rains without it..about 20 min ride to downtown Cruz Bay, twisted steep roads. Parking very steep, have to back in to driveway, then slippery steps and steep walking ramp…not suitable for older couple or people with disability.

House seems somewhat neglected, needs detail cleaning, and general maintenance. Door jambs, dirty with prints, kitchen cabinets musty, bugs, mold, termites in some areas. Some cabinet hinges were broke. All areas needed dusting…kitchen needs updated silverware, not enough food saver bowls or drinking cups, knives dull. Did not seem fully prepped before our arrival.

Tiled surface floors, very slippery when wet…so getting in out pool had to be done very cautiously or wear your thong shoes to be safe. Would have been nice to have a squeegee mop to dry deck after rainfall.

I-pod player only worked half the time…had to mess with that over and over to get it to work..mouse on computer needs replacing.

Property reply…


We agree that a 4-wheel vehicle is needed on St. John and note that most rental companies on the island will only rent 4-wheel drive vehicles for this reason.  There is a flat parking area at the bottom of the driveway at Waterfall and even an entry ramp for those guests having difficulty handling a few steps. Waterfall is an excellent choice for those desiring one-level living for some in the party and for those with mobility issues.
Slippery tiled surfaces are a perennial problem on the island, but this summer the owners of Waterfall have surfaced the tile areas with a product that is undetectable when dry, but prevents slipping even if you try(!) when wet.  It works so well, the villa management company hopes to add this product to other properties on St. John soon. 
Both the villa management company and the owners were distraught to hear concerns about cleanliness, maintenance, and amenities at Waterfall. All issues have been fully addressed. Future guests will also be happy to know that changes have been made to ensure this was an isolated situation. They fully expect that all future guests will have the kind of quality vacation experience that Waterfall has a reputation of providing.
