What an amazing villa - as we walked through the door all of us just stood and soaked in the amazing view! The house is really nice too - but that view - no matter which room you are in you have that view - even from the showers! The kids (age 10 and 12) were a little skeptical of taking a shower with a window, but once we convince them that no one could see up that high… they were sold - LOL! The house has everything you need and more. From beautiful bedrooms and baths to the large dining area, fully stocked kitchen, and lovely, comfy family room area. And then there is the pool - WOW! Plenty of parking for all 3 of our jeeps - one down the hill by the front door and two up top - easy. Car Rental through Slim Man’s - also purchased the daily parking pass which we used multiple times each day - well worth it for the week.

We had provisioning done by Landlubbers - so worth every single penny to have things there when you arrive! And we had our first night’s dinner delivered at about 4:30pm from Sam and Jack’s Deli - best sandwiches! We spent a day with Big Blue Excursions on their catamaran, Sweet Revenge II! Lots of snorkleling stops and paddleboarding - Amazing! And had lunch that day at the floating pizza joint - Pizza Pi - honestly we all said that was the best pizza we have had in years (and their gluten free crust was yummy)! We had Seeley from St Johns Catering come to the house and make us dinner one night - so relazing and delicious! One day we had lunch over in Coral Bay at Lime Out - kids that that was pretty cool. Other linches/dinners out were at Dave and Jerrys, Morgans Mango, Beach Bar and Greengo’s Caribbean Cantina.

Will Return to Royce

Royce, St. John villa review

The WhereToStay team of Betsy and Sharon were excellent. The Villa Royce was a perfect choice for our family of six adults and two under the age of one. Everyone had their own private and quiet room to retire to with private balconies while there was plenty of open common area to gather, play and laugh. The pool offered a welcome place to lounge after travel around the island chasing beaches and hiking.

We rented three jeeps from SlimMan, utilized Warren for our airport transfers, LandLubbers and Star Fish market for groceries and Island Baby for baby necessities. All were great suggestions from Sharon and appreciated.

Winnie, our greeter, met us at the ferry dock, walked us the short distance to SlimMan car rental, escorted us to the Villa and gave us a short villa introduction.

Weather was unseasonably warm during part of our visit and the USVI was experiencing power outages on a rolling basis. Villa Royce has it’s own generator which worked wonderfully when it had fuel! Having the generator was a life saver with two young babies.

Overall great experience with WhereToStay, Betsy, Sharon and the local management team at Cater To. I will certainly start here on the next Caribbean vacation.

Great House

Royce, St. John villa review

This house is perfect for 4 couples, the bedrooms are all equal and the kitchen and family room are vey comfortable. Great views of the boats in Great Cruz Bay. The house is also very close to town, about 5-7 minutes.

Our fantastic spring break at Villa Royce

Our Villa on St. John was perfect - great location, amazing views, and an incredible house. Everything was clean, spacious, comfortable and worked perfectly. Our 2 families loved our stay there, and we will be back. Betsy, Abby and Sharon all took great care of us in leading up to our trip and we sincerely appreciate their attention to detail as we planned our trip. Overall this Villa was 5 stars and we would recommend to anyone who wants to be in Cruz Bay, have great views, and also a little privacy. We’ll be back!

Stunning home!!

Royce, St. John villa review

This house checks every box! Start with the view, one of the best on the island! The sunrise is right off the pool over the hills, and it is gorgeous. The house its self is remarkable - the separate bedrooms are away from the main living space, and very nice.  Especially if people wanted to stay up or outside by the pool. High-end finishes through out the home were very nice to have. It is a 3-4 minute car ride to downtown. We did not rent a car, so we used Chico for our cab rides. He is a great man, and a blessing to the island! I would highly recommend staying at this wonderful place on an amazing island! Thanks Shawna!

Absolutely Perfect!

Royce, St. John villa review

Villa Royce is everything we hoped for during our family vacation! Perfect for our group of 3 couples and 2 kiddos. My husband and I have been to St. John several times, and this place is by far the best place we’ve stayed. Starting with the location…close enough to town, restaurants and bars, and the grocery store (5-10 min) but still quietly nestled up and away from the busy town. The villa itself is beautiful, from the amenities, layout, to the decor, finishes, and bedding…it was all perfect and CLEAN! Literally had everything we needed and more for our weeks stay. PLENTY of beach towels and chairs!! The pool was amazing to cool off in and relax with a cocktail after a day at the beach. And I can’t forget to mention that stunning view overlooking the bay…no matter where you are in the villa you get to see the beauty!! I hope to visit Villa Royce again in the near future!!

I can’t speak more highly of WhereToStay.com and Shawna. Beyond easy to book and manage our trip; loved the overall ease of navigating the website. Shawna is the best, and completely on top of everything!! Consistently followed up with us to ensure we had everything in place to make our trip perfect. Any questions we had were answered extremely quickly.  She literally made planning our trip effortless!! PLUS, one of us left clothes behind in a bedroom drawer, and I was contacted letting me know that the items were dropped off at the post office and gave me specific instructions on how to ship the items back! Never would have expected that extra effort!!

2022 Thanksgiving in Paradise

What a find!!!! This Villa was extremely thoughtful in every inch of building this property. My husband and I took our daughter, son-in-law and two teenage grandsons (11 & 14) for an early Christmas vacation. It had four bedrooms all on one side of the property. The state-of-the-art kitchen more than accommodated our meals to the point that we ate dinner out once during the entire stay. The pool…what can I say but WOW.

We were only 10-ish minutes from the 1st of 5 beaches and only 1/4 mile the grocery store and 1/2 mile to downtown. Swimming/snorkeling with the sea turtles at Maho beach is a must. Beach chairs are located in a locker at the front of the house.

There were full size washer and dryers as well as an awesome grill which was under a covered porch off the family room. There was an incredible view from every room in the house!!!

If we could rate this Villa higher than 5 Stars, we would. This is a perfect Villa for a girl’s runaway week. There are three bedrooms with King-size beds with ensuites and a 4th bedroom with twin beds and an ensuite as well.

One recommendation we would make would be to bring your own spices, condiments, and other non-perishable items as they got to be somewhat expensive and offered larger quantities than you may use.

We will absolutely look to be booking this again next year for sure!

Andrew was amazing, attentive to every detail for this trip. We will definitely request him when we book again for 2023!

No brainer! BOOK this place

Royce, St. John villa review

We just stayed 7 nights at The Royce, and we loved every minute of it. The layout makes it fair for 4 different couples to have exact same rooms and views. The pool is off-the-charts with the views, and the easy-to-use Sonos sound system helps keep the vibe going all day. Late night hang outs in kitchen and/or family room makes it easy for the early nighters to go to sleep with tree frogs as their sound machines :)

The communication and help from Shawna (at Where to Stay) was second to none. Helping with pick-ups, taxis, Wini (who welcomed us) to the cleanliness and other countless recommendations. Shaibu - the private chef at the house -  was unreal! LandLubbers killed it and couldn’t imagine NOT having them stock the house.

We loved it. The island vibe has taken our hearts :).

Highly recommend Clive (Life is Good yellow bus) Ryan at island roots and booking this property.

The perfect Villa

Villa Royce was absolutely perfect for our getaway! It accommodates all 6 of us so well. Beautiful & convenient details in every room! Double washer & dryers, en-suite with every room, enough seating in every gathering space, and the view is absolutely best of all!!! Would stay here again and again!!!

WhereToStay was Exceptional! Shawna was great to speak to and was extremely helpful when planning this trip to St. John. She went above and beyond every time I emailed her.

Spectacular!

Royce Villa was breathtaking from the moment you walked in the door.
The villa was lovely through out and comfortable in every way possible.
Every room was high end and decorated so beautifully. Pool was fantastic and refreshing with lovely views. Chef kitchen was outstanding with high end appliances and complete with everything you would need. Every room throughout villa was nicely cooled for comfort. Wonderful beds and truly enjoyed our balcony from our room each day.
The entire house is incredible!

Shawna was great to work with. Responded to all my questions and Communication was wonderful.
She made sure everything was in order for our stay at Royce. Connected us with our Greeter and Sharon upon our arrival for our stay.
Overall experience was outstanding!

Perfect for families

Royce, St. John villa review

This was our first trip to St. John and we had chosen Villa Royce based off other reviews and mostly the pictures of the views from the villa! This villa did not disappoint and it was exactly as pictured and incredibly clean and well stocked. So convenient that they had all the beach essentials including chairs, coolers, towels, umbrellas, floats, and even snorkel gear! Having double washer and dryer when staying with 8 people was a game changer! The villa was even logged into Amazon prime, Netflix, etc in most rooms which made things easy and convenient. I thought it was really unique that they let previous guests leave leftover or unused items such as leftover laundry detergent and sunscreen for the next guests to use so it doesn’t go to waste! It was helpful having those extra items to start. I thought the villa was kid friendly and loved that the bedrooms were separate from living area so we could put kids to bed and not worry about the noise. The beds and pillows were super comfy and we really had no issues. I can’t say enough about the views from everywhere in the house and the pool was amazing. We would’ve been fine not even leaving the villa at all.

Shawna was great to work with and responsive. She answered any and all questions we had and was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Incredible stay at Royce

We are just back from an awesome trip to St John. Our stay at Royce villa could not have been any better. The location is perfect and they have thought of everything in terms of what you want/need in a vacation home. During our week there we went out for dinner twice but otherwise stayed home and took advantage of the great kitchen, grill, and outdoor dining space along with the beautiful view and great evening breezes.

Excellent stay at Royce Villa

Villa is in great condition with everything you would ever need for a wonderful stay on St John. We’ve rented more than 10 villas in St John and BVI and this is by far our favorite. 4 king bedrooms (one could be 2 twins) great floor plan with AC everywhere. Pool and view are spectacular. We rented two Jeeps for our group and navigating to the house is very easy. Quick 8 minute drive from Cruz Bay and the streets are well lit. Hope to be back again soon!!!

Shawna was awesome and helped with dozens of questions I had. Responses were always prompt and courteous. She had lots of helpful recommendations and made everything so easy!!! Thanks Shawna, we won’t hesitate to book with you in the future.

5-Star Villa with GREAT Amenities!

Royce, St. John villa review

Villa Royce is a first class private home on Great Cruz Bay! The Villa is very well laid out, has 5-star amenities, and several wonderful outdoor areas overlooking Great Cruz Bay. The appliances, cookware, Riedel wine glasses, washer/dryer SETS (2 of them), and other items included in the rental are all first class! The en-suite bathrooms in all four bedrooms are spacious with dual vanity layout and a walk in shower overlooking Great Cruz Bay. The infinity pool and patio have ample room for sun bathing and floating. The built in spa is a great addition and is connected to the infinity pool! There is also a large deck with two tables and seating for 10 and includes a brand new Weber gas grill. Four adults stayed in this Villa for 7 days and there is easily room for 8 adults.

We highly recommend this Villa and the team at www.wheretostay.com as Shawna’s service, communication, and attention to detail were all fantastic! Shawna’s recommendations for everything on St. John were spot on as we used many of them including 3 restaurants, water/land taxi service, day boat charters, and Jeep Rental (Slim is THE MAN!). WE WILL BE BACK!!

Incredible Stay

Royce, St. John villa review

Our stay at Villa Royce can only be described as magical. From our initial booking to our stay, Shawna and WhereToStay made the process as smooth as possible. We traveled as 2 couples so had plenty of room, but 4 couples could fit easily as well, the house has so many beautiful spaces, and all the bedrooms are mirror images of each other with exceptional views. Even the showers had incredible views, and waking up to soak that in was an amazing experience.

We’d come back from our boat charter or downtown and bring home dinner to enjoy by the pool and hot tub every night for sunset, and it was such an amazing experience overlooking Great Cruz Bay each night. The house is very well equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and beach towels, as well as basic household needs. Cooking in that amazing kitchen was a dream, and the owner’s also left some treats for us which we appreciated.

The house is about 10 minutes from Cruz Bay and less than 5 from Starfish Market, which was an ideal location to be in, accessible to everything. Before we arrived, Shawna sent us very detailed instructions on how to get to St. John and all the things we needed to know for Covid travel to St. John, which really helped.

Do not hesitate to book Villa Royce - words do not do it justice and I miss it already. And St. John is stunning, we can’t wait to be back. The whole WhereToStay team made our stay wonderful, and we’d definitely book with them again.
