Sunset Beach Villa is located on Dever’s Bay along St. John’s south shores. Named for its daily views of the sunset over the Caribbean Sea, this villa is sure to please any sun-loving traveler.
Sunset Beach embodies the charm of old St. John with bright colors and Caribbean style. The large swimming pool and beach make sunbathing, beach combing, and snorkeling a daily activity. Soak in the hot tub or swim laps in the pool to take advantage of the island breeze and warm sunshine. Guests can grill on the BBQ and make drinks in the poolside wet bar, so there’s hardly any need to go inside. Speaking of inside, the open-plan Great Room encompasses the living, kitchen, and dining areas under a vaulted ceiling. The living area is furnished in antique reproductions from the Virgin Islands Heritage series of the Whim Museum, and the custom-built kitchen sits adjacent so the cook can stay connected with everyone. The Great Room opens to the veranda. The four air-conditioned bedrooms all open to sunset views. Each of these equally-sized rooms has beautiful antiques and an ensuite bathroom. The lower level king suite is located just below the great room and opens to the pool deck. The lower level also has a washer/dryer and exterior access. The upper level cabana suites are are exterior access as well. There is one king suite and a twin suite which can be made into a king if needed. The lower level cabana suite has twin beds which perfect for teenagers or children or it can be made up as a king size bed for couples if needed.
Dever’s Bay is a largely residential peninsula, but only a short drive from shops and restaurants in Cruz Bay. Sunset Beach Villa allows small weddings and wedding parties, so any group of travelers can enjoy this rental.

It was a perfect vacation Villa for my family,, ranging in age from 3 to 64. The place has a perfect layout for a vacation, pool, hot tub, open living area, each bedroom had its own bathroom! And most important, breathtaking views from everywhere!! We even snorkeled one day in Devers Bay. The arrival was seamless.thanks to the great management, Where to Stay.. Everything we needed was provided: beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, floats for the pool, 2 sets of washers and dryers, the kitchen was well stocked for plates, utensals, pots and pans and blender, a must have. We will never stay anywhere else in the Virgin Islands.. It is located a short drive to Cruz Bay, for shopping and dining.

Great Spot; Super Trip
Sunset Beach Villa, St. John villa review
Sunset Beach Villa is a wonderful villa with a rare beach, albeit a rocky one, right in front of the property. The pool and hot tub are very nice, as well. The pictures are accurate.
Andrew and Sharon always make our trips run like clockwork. The recommendations are spot on, and we’ll be planning next year’s family trip with them soon. This was our third island to visit, and they’ve made each trip memorable and stress free. Andrew always finds the perfect location and Sharon makes sure that everything runs smoothly. They’re a great combo.

Perfect place for a perfect vacation
Sunset Beach Villa, St. John villa review
We traveled to St. John for a wedding and stayed at Sunset Beach Villa. It was lovely. We traveled with 3 kids under the age of 5 and felt the villa was the perfect location. They loved the pool and access to the ocean. We went snorkeling in our waters right outside our back door. The outdoor shower was so relaxing. The house was well equipped with the gear we needed (including a pack n play and highchair). We’ll be back.

Beautiful
Sunset Beach Villa, St. John villa review
The Villa was beautiful and right on the water. I would suggest shoes for sure because of all the sea urchins right at the water’s edge. I was a little nervous because the bedrooms were all on the outside of the house, which I didn’t like not being close to my children. I had to keep the doors unlocked so that they could get in every morning if we weren’t already in the house. We had only a couple of issues. We ran out of water one day, the electricity went off one day, and the tv went off one day for several hours. When the electricity is off, be prepared not to be able to call anyone because the phone service is horrendous. They should have some sort of alarm to let you know when the water is low. We had to wait 1/2 a day for water to be delivered. We were told the water would be monitored, but we were still allowed to run out. If you have young children that are afraid of iguanas, this may not be the place to go. My kids loved it. All in all, the Villa was beautiful and the pool and hot tub were great. It had lots of outdoor seating which was great. It had beautiful views. If we were to go back, we would rent it again.
Betsy was great to work with and available whenever we had questions. If she didn’t know the answer, she would get it. She provided us with good recommendations when we asked.

Great pool area

We actually stayed here prior to 2009, but the review is still accurate. This house has the best pool area of any place that we have ever stayed. You can be at one end in the morning for the sun and the other end in the afternoon for shade. There is a large flat area at the shallow in where you can sit and read or just relax. There is also an area to make drinks with an icemaker…That was great for us. I don’t agree that the area is easy to snorkel in. It is really rocky and was really difficult for an older member of our party to get in and out. But that being said, it is a terrific location. We would return again in a heartbeat. It looks as if it has been spruced up since we were there which would make it even more attractive to us.

Superb Location
Sunset Beach Villa, St. John villa review
Sunset Beach offers many luxury amenities but the best one is its location; private, quiet with spectacular beach. We didn’t need to leave the comfort of the villa to snorkel, just walk down the stone stairway to our seemingly private beach. The house was very nice. Each room private with its own ocean view. The minor issues we encountered were promptly addressed by the management company. They were however, unable to resolve the lack of ac in (what I considered) the master. We were fairly comfortable with natural breezes but without them, it would have been too hot. Also, the main living and kitchen area are not equipped with air conditioning and at times it was a bit warm in these rooms but that just gives you an incentive to be outdoors! It’s also worth noting, we were there in June which is when I assume temperatures begin to climb. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, then taking a dip in the pool. We appreciated the community of iguanas’ sharing their habitat with us. Overall, I highly recommend Sunset Beach and very highly recommend Catered To, the local management company, and Where to Stay. Both outfits were extremely professional and friendly. Also, highly recommend Richard at Wheately Taxi on St Thomas. Very accommodating- top shelf!

Great location

This house needs major work. Doors wouldn’t lock. Food in the refrigerator got wet. Furniture is outdated. Beach chairs were broken. Showers and sinks didn’t drain properly. Couldn’t figure out some of the lights. The kitchen cabinets were sticky. The beds were very comfortable and the towels were great. Great location.
Working with Shawna was great. Very efficient system. Answered all my upfront questions.

Sunset Beach Villa, St. John villa review
We loved the view from the upper balcony of Sunset Beach Villa. The layout of the house is good: there is plenty of space to be together as a family, but it is easy to have some privacy as well. It is conveniently located and it is an easy drive to get groceries, gasoline, go shopping, and eat in Cruz Bay. The problem for us was that the house just needs a bit of upgrading. It is too shopworn in too many areas.
Shawna is fantastic! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She arranged transportation from the airport for us and guided us through everything we needed for our trip. We had absolutely no problem with her at all.
