What's special about Saba?
Saba is a tiny island near St. Maarten. A standout from the other Caribbean Islands in that it has few beaches, and is very hilly and rocky; Saba has retained its natural state by resisting many commercial intrusions.
Mt. Scenery dominates the center of Saba, soaring 3,000 feet above the Caribbean Sea. It offers hikers a real challenge with its rocky outcroppings and dense vegetation. Saba is also a top diving location. The island is surrounded by coral reefs protected by the Marine Park that provide hours of diving adventures. Swimming and snorkeling are also popular on this little patch of paradise.
Accommodations are limited on the island, so book early if you want to stay on Saba. There are a few hotels and guest cottages for visitors to enjoy, but this is a very laid-back island, so don’t expect to find huge resorts and elegant villa rentals here.
