Hurricane Omar Moves On with Little Damage in its Wake

IN

Everyone can breath a sigh of relief now that Omar is racing away from the northern Leeward Islands. Hurricane Omar’s path was 10 to 20 miles east southeast of St. Croix which took the worst hit yet still only experienced some downed trees, light structural damage and 4 reported sunk boats.

St. Thomas and St. John had mostly rain and minimal winds and have reported no damage, just some flooding issues from the heavy rains received in the last week or so. The curfew has been lifted and most areas have power or should within the next several hours.

We’re very thankful that the islands were spared by Omar!
