Bask in the sunshine and solitude of one of the British Virgin Islands’ most renowned luxury resorts, uniquely built on 140 acres of Virgin Gorda’s north shore. Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean at Berchers Bay and the Caribbean’s North Sound, Biras Creek stretches between two hills providing guests with unlimited views, activities, and sublime food and service. Accessible only by boat, the Biras Creek express ferry will pick you up from Beef Island, Tortola airport for the 30-minute picturesque ride across North Sound.

An ultimate couple’s getaway destination, Biras Creek caters to travelers seeking a relaxing, comfortable, romantic holiday surrounded by friendly staff taking care of your every need. It’s a community where room keys don’t exist and bicycles replace cars as a mode of transportation. Biras Creek is a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux hotel group, known for their 5 “Cs” - Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm, and Cuisine - and the dinners are some of the best in the Caribbean!

Biras Creek is an intimate tropical hideaway with only 33 suites, ensuring your privacy and relaxation is uninterrupted. No children under 8 years of age are allowed, as their focus is on making your experience special and romantic.

The 21 ocean suites are located at the water’s edge on Berchers Bay with limitless views out to sea from the bedroom and private patio. Nine garden suites are set back from the bay behind the ocean suites with peek-a-boo water views. All feature a sitting area leading to the patio with a large sliding, screened door, separate air-conditioned king bedroom, ceiling fan, telephone, CD player, coffee maker, mini-bar where the first of each item is free; large closet, and safe. A large “garden shower” lies off each bathroom providing a sky view surrounded by stone walls and tropical plants. The baths are furnished with Crabtree & Evelyn bath products and a hairdryer.

Two newly redecorated Grand Suites are large one bedroom, one and a half bath oceanside suites with two private decks and a soaking tub in addition to the garden shower. The Premier Suite is a spacious two-bedroom, two-bath, two-patio villa overlooking the ocean.

Guests will find “welcome” sodas, beer, bottled water, a bottle of wine, and two complimentary bathrobes to start their vacation and take home as a memoir of their days spent at Biras.

All meals are included with your stay at Biras Creek. Breakfasts are cooked to order with a variety of self-serve items: fruit, juice and cereal available every day. Lunches are sandwiches, soups, and salads but save some room for dinner. Wonderful choices are rotated on a 14-day schedule providing something for everyone (beef, chicken, seafood) to savor and remember. Tops on the taste chart are the Baked Grouper accompanied by leek and cassava with homardine and basil sauce or the Chef’s special grilled lobster preceded by a flavorful soup du jour, crisp mesclun salad and topped off with fresh mango and coconut cheesecake, cappuccino creme brulee, or another sinful, taste tempting dessert. Continental breakfasts and casual lunches and dinners can be found waterside at Fat Virgin Cafe located at the watersports center dock, where everyone’s favorite hamburger and other grilled specialties will satisfy the hungriest mariner.

Two bicycles for touring and resort transportation come with each suite and are a good way to work off those superb meals. This is a fun way to get around on the trails, have the chains oiled, it helps you get up the hills! Walk around the tropical gardens, (Monday morning garden walks are lead by Biras Creek’s head gardener), along the beach at Berchers Bay, hike the trails up into the hills?bringing a good pair of walking shoes is a must. The trails are well maintained and marked, so you won’t lose your way. The views are stunning in all directions and you may see some of the many resident iguanas including mascots Hubertus, Willimina, and Godzilla.

For the sports enthusiast or those who need a TV fix during their visit, a big screen satellite television is available in the Arawak room, as well as a large selection of DVDs. You’ll want to schedule a soothing massage at the beach and enjoy the Yoga class that’s offered every Thursday morning.

The private pool is right on Berchers Bay. Lounge chairs and floating mats are available. No beverage or food service is offered here. The beach at Berchers Bay is coral rubble and rocky, so bring sturdy shoes. The surf comes in here off the Atlantic; swimming is better advised at Deep Bay where there is a white sandy beach, lounge chairs and calmer conditions most days. Here you will also find a beach bar for refreshments and lunch is served here three or more days a week.

Tennis anyone? Two lighted Omni tennis courts are available for complimentary guest use. Balls and rackets to use during your stay are available.

Guided snorkeling trips are offered several times a week and guests also have use of a fleet of Boston Whalers, each capable of taking up to three adults on exploratory trips around the protected waters of North Sound. Order a box lunch and plan an excursion to neighboring Prickly Pear Island, Eustatia, or Saba Rock. Find your own private snorkeling and sunbathing beach for the day. Masks, fins and snorkels are available at the Marina Village.

Introductory Scuba sessions are scheduled once a week. Lessons will be held poolside followed by a shallow water dive. Certified divers may arrange one or two-tank dives through the resort with local North Sound dive shops. Enjoy the tropical sunsets aboard a sailing cruise around the North Sound and out to Necker Island.

You might want to take an island tour of Virgin Gorda, walk the trail to the top of Gorda Peak for fabulous BVI views, enjoy a day sail to Anegada where you can snorkel at Loblolly Beach and eat lobster, sail over to Jost Van Dyke or visit Tortola’s Roadtown for some shopping and tropical cuisine. A favorite with all ages is a glass bottom boat trip to The Baths on Virgin Gorda. The massive granite boulders seem placed by magic hands to form caves and pools along the shoreline. Bring your tennis shoes, towel, sunscreen and snorkel gear for a day to remember.

Bone fishing and deep sea fishing excursions in nearby waters can be arranged. Car rentals are available in Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda to let you explore the rest of the island on your own. If you’d rather see it all from the air, helicopter trips can be arranged.
