Be Careful Who Picks You Up In Provo

When you travel as much as Shawna and I do, you make a lot of memories. Some of them are sweet, and some are straight up laughable. Our latest memory happened while we were down on the islands viewing villas on Provo…

I had called a local manager who I had never met before and asked him to pick me up at a recognizable location.
A few cars passed by and then suddenly a friendly-looking guy stopped and parked. I jumped in the car and started up a conversation -

“Claudius! How are you man? Great to meet you!”
“Ya man, ya man, same here!”
“I can’t believe I’m finally here hanging out with you, Claudius!”
“Too true man - too true!”

We then took off, heading up Leeward’s highway.

“So were ya want ta go!?” the friendly man said.
“Well Claudius, you tell me what’s first!”
- big smile from the driver -
“I’ll take you anywhere! Let’s go to the beach.”
“Well, I need to see your villas first! I thought you had a property list?”
- Blank stare from my friendly driver -
Suddenly, I realized this was not Claudius! My new friend was just a local guy who wanted to help a traveling stranger out.

So, moral of the story: be careful what car you jump into, you might make some memories!
