Know Before You Go...®
Abita Kai is a great choice for a multi-generational family vacation. With three bedrooms spread across two levels of the main house and two bedrooms in the guest cottage, there’s plenty of room for kids, grandparents, and everyone in between to spread out and have fun. Best of all, this is one of the few wheelchair-accessible villas on the island, and the owners have truly thought of everything when it comes to accessibility.
Barefoot Beach villa!
Abita Kai is a wheelchair-accessible villa on the southwestern tip of Rum Point. Cayman Kai’s shallow waters, vibrant sunsets, and white sand beaches will allure any traveler, and the villa’s wheelchair-accessible features allow everyone to enjoy the island’s beauty.
Abita Kai’s interiors, pool area, and beach are all wheelchair-accessible, and an elevator, pool lift, and beach wheelchair are available upon request. The villa’s oceanfront infinity pool and sundeck take full advantage of the ocean views, while the private dock opens up access to water sport rentals and charter pickups. A barefoot beach stretches half a mile in either direction so guests can jog, walk, or sunbathe all day. Don’t forget to rinse off in the outdoor shower before heading back inside!
A two-story screened atrium spans the width of the main house and draws ocean views into the oceanfront bedroom suite, living room, and kitchen. The gourmet kitchen opens directly to the atrium’s dining table and is outfitted with stainless steel appliances, luxury cookware, marble countertops, and twice-filtered water from the kitchen sink. The living room’s 70” HDTV is outfitted with cable programming, AppleTV, and a DVD player. There is also a formal dining room off the foyer.
Three bedrooms are in Abita Kai’s main house and two are in the guest cottage. In the main house, the oceanfront king suite opens to the lower level’s screened atrium. Upstairs, there’s a master suite with a roll-in accessible shower and cable TV as well as a queen suite with two beds. Both upstairs suites open to the screened atrium balcony. In the guest cottage, there’s a master suite with a king bed, ensuite bathroom, and private balcony. The adjacent children’s suite offers a queen bunk bed, twin bunk bed, and ensuite bathroom. The cottage also has its own living room and kitchen. Pack-n-plays and baby equipment are available as needed.
Rum Point Club’s sandy beaches, water sports, and beach bar are a short walk from Abita Kai. The Kaibo Marina’s water sports, fine dining restaurant, downstairs bar, casual restaurant, and coffee shop is minutes away.

Second stay at Abita Kai
Abita Kai, Cayman villa review
Once again Betsy and Sharon guaranteed our week at Abita Kai would be nothing less than perfection. The staff at Silver Thatch were also wonderful. We brought a new group with us this year and they were in awe of the home and the beach toys (paddle boards/kayak’s). We had seven days of relaxation, boating, sporting and enjoying our favorite restaurant’s (Kaibo Beach Club and Over the Edge). The house is wonderful for shared experiences and also gives each couple areas to enjoy some privacy, if desired. We catered wonderful tapas through Hurley’s our first night. They were delicious and lasted a few days for snacking by the pool. Chisolm’s, right around the bend from the house, has just about anything you could need in a pinch. Betsy and Sharon…we cannot wait to work with you next year as we search out our next unique destination. We have passed along info to many friends regarding our four years running success booking our adventures through WhereToStay! Cheers!
There are not enough words to describe the professionalism and personal care Betsy provides. I seriously look forward to working with her every year. No matter what pops up (if anything), Betsy is right there ready to help. Every experience has been beyond fantastic! Thank you, Betsy!

This is THE house to leave all your worries behind...PARADISE!
Abita Kai, Cayman villa review
Another fabulous trip managed by the team at WhereToStay. Betsy and Sharon kept us informed all the way through the process. This is the third international trip we have booked through WhereToStay and they just keep getting better and better.
Abita Kai was paradise. A beautiful oasis away from all the hustle and bustle. Your own private beach and pool. Two kayaks and a paddle board to take off in the Caribbean blue waters around Star Point and Rum Point. There were beautiful yellow/orange and red starfish all around us as we swam off our private beach.
The house was perfection. Beautiful kitchen opened to family room. Three very private bedrooms in the main house with their own baths. A fantastic screened in room across the entire back of the house. We have to say, we never saw a single mosquito or fly; however, it was nice to have that room to eat our meals and play games every day.
As a double amputee, I had everything I needed to feel right at home. An elevator to our room, pool chair to come and go from the pool whenever I wanted and a beach wheelchair which allowed me to drop right into the ocean to hang with our friends.
We ate at Kaibo, across the street, twice. The food was fantastic, and the staff were quite fun and welcoming. They kept asking us to delay our departure as we were all having such a wonderful time.
We had the bulk of our groceries delivered prior to our arrival from Hurley’s. Ally at Hurley’s was fantastic whenever we had additional needs.
We felt like we had been there a month by day two. That should tell you how relaxed and wonderful Abita Kai was.
Thank you again, Betsy and Sharon, for making our annual vacation with friends one to treasure always.
We look forward to our next adventure with your assistance.
We had previously worked with Andrew on two trips abroad. We were so spoiled by our experience with him that we thought he couldn’t be matched. We were wrong. It must be mandatory to be “perfection” at WhereToStay as Betsy proved to be just as wonderful. We couldn’t ask for more. Betsy was upbeat, knowledgeable, patient and so kind throughout the entire planning process. We will never work with anyone other than the terrific team at WhereToStay. Get ready, we are going to challenge you to find another home as wonderful as this was. Thank you.

Abita Kai
Abita Kai, Cayman villa review
Overall satisfied with Abita Kai, good location, house was clean, grounds and pool were acceptable, kitchen well appointed.
Area rugs need to be updated, dining table needs to be increased in size for a house that sleeps 10, should have pool and grounds cleaned and maintain while quest are there, should have maid/cleaning service for the house at least once and better would be twice per week. Should not have sleep on same sheets all week long. and wash your towels while on vacation.
The kayak and standup paddle boards were greatly appreciated.
Question, would I go back, probably not.
Working with “Where to Stay” was fine. I would continue to recombed them
